Angels join Development Bank in Driverly fundraising round

A technology business which provides adaptable app solutions to major car insurance companies has completed a six-figure round, supported by the Development Bank of Wales, Angels Invest Wales and high-profile Welsh investors. Driverly started life as a technology platform making it easier for young drivers to access car insurance, using data gathered on individual drivers to help bring down their insurance contributions.

Distil.ai closes £1m funding round

Big Business Intelligence, trading as Distil.ai, has successfully secured a £350,000 equity investment from the British Business Bank's South West Investment Fund, via appointed Fund Manager The FSE Group. The funding is part of a £1million round that also includes investment from Waterspring Ventures.

AI startup Soource raises €1.5m to fund growth

Soource, a startup founded in 2024 in Bolzano by former European diving champion Maicol Verzotto together with Nazareno Mario Ciccarello, Silvia Chiarot, Serena Galli and Luca Taddeo, has closed a €1.5 million pre-seed round. The operation was led by 360 Capital, with the participation of EXOR Ventures, Vesper, B Heroes, several Business Angels and the Members of the Investors Club through Simon Fiduciaria .

Northern Gritstone leads £4m funding for robotic software firm BOW

BOW, a robotics software company, has secured a combined £4 million seed round investment led by Northern Gritstone, the investment business focused on science and technology in the North of England and chaired by Lord Jim O'Neill. Co-investors include Finance Yorkshire and NPIF II - Praetura Equity Finance, which is managed by Praetura as part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II.

Lupa, the AI-native veterinary practice management platform, has closed a $4M seed from top investors including firstminute capital, 2100 Ventures and Vento by Exor Ventures. Other investors include top McKinsey, BCG, JP Morgan, Nexi, and NovaCapital angels. Lupa will use the new funding to accelerate product development and commercial expansion.

Northstar Ventures lead £1.6m funding round into Wordnerds

Gateshead-based Wordnerds' innovative AI customer insight analysis tool has gained the company £720,000 of investment from Northstar Ventures as part of a £1.6m a funding round.

Several well-known organisations such as Sainsbury's, M&S, Network Rail and the Department for Work and Pensions are using Wordnerds' product, which enables them to identify in real time how customers talk and what they talk about.
