Health and lifestyle coaching platform Added Health raises £1m

Two leading doctors who developed a new health coaching platform after the untimely death of a colleague have raised over £1m in a funding round led by private equity firm Traditum and backed by angel investors.  The funding will enable physiologist and serial entrepreneur Dr Michael Stein and Oxford University’s Professor Chris Butler to develop their Added Health platform further and roll it out to a wider audience.

*US* ADHD wearable startup lands $250,000 from The Launch Place

USA: The Launch Place has announced its $250,000 investment in Revibe Technologies, a North Carolina-based startup developing digital therapy software for wearables to treat attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism. After bringing its flagship artificial intelligence-driven smartwatch and wristband to the adolescent market, the company is iterating on its success with FokusRx—a nonpharmacologic software-as-a-medical device (SaMD) approach to treating attention and focus deficits.

Virtual hospital ward solution secures £1 million investment

Healthtech startup, Virtue Health Group Limited (Virtue), has secured £1 million in seed funding in an investment round led by the Midlands Engine Investment Fun (MEIF) managed by Midven, part of the Future Planet Capital Group. The company has secured £500,000 from the MEIF as well as further investments from QVentures and a number of business angels.

Hearing Diagnostics eyes market breakthrough following £1.1m angel funding

Hearing Diagnostics, the Edinburgh-based healthtech company, is eyeing commercialisation in the domestic and US markets following a £1.1m fundraise.

Led by Archangels, the world’s longest continually running angel investment syndicate, the funding will unlock the spatial hearing screening technology’s market potential. Other funders in the raise include Scottish Enterprise through its Scottish Co-Investment Fund.

Sexual health brand Here We Flo raises £1.7m from Angel Investment Network

London-based Period care and sexual health brand Here We Flo has raised £1.7m in an angel funding round, supported by Angel Investment Network, the world’s largest online angel investment platform. 

Here We Flo’s mission is ‘shamelessly natural care for life’s messiest moments’. The brand intends to challenge, shame and disrupt the period, bladder and sexual wellness markets with organic and vegan products. 

Every material is sourced with sustainability in mind and free of any dyes, pesticides, petroleum plastics and other contaminants that may impact health. The product list includes FLO Period Care, glo Sensitive Bladder Care and XO! Sexual Wellness.

ChromaTwist lands angel funding to develop fluorescent dyes

University of Birmingham spinout ChromaTwist Ltd has secured £487k of equity investment to develop its new class of fluorescent dyes for the flow cytometry reagent market.

This second round of equity investment, which brought in funds from Directors, existing Angel investors, angelgroups and the University of Birmingham will allow the company to continue product development with industry partners, and enable rapid development of products for market entry as soon as 2023.

Female founded gynae startup Daye raises £10m

UK-based gynaecological health startup Daye, which is known for having invented the CBD tampon that is now used by over 60,000 women in the UK, has completed a £10 million funding round. The company’s successful Series A funding round includes investment from London-based Hambro Perks, an international investment firm which focuses on breakthrough and growth technology companies and included angel funding from investors including Dr Michelle Tempest, Dr Fiona Pathiraja and Martin Varsavsky, founder of Prelude, the largest chain of fertility clinics in the world.

Healthtech start-up BlueSkeye AI raises £3.4m to transform mental health diagnoses

Award winning, early stage Healthtech company, BlueSkeye AI Ltd, has secured £3.4m in funding to pursue its mission to improve people’s quality of life through the use of its proprietary face and voice analysis technology. The round was led by XTX Ventures, which invested alongside Foresight Group (through The Midlands Engine Investment Fund), Praetura Ventures (through Praetura’s GMC Life Sciences Fund), the University of Nottingham and a consortium of high-net-worth individuals.
