Job design platform RoleMapper raises £1.75m

A HR Tech company, which helps organisations design and structure jobs that improve diversity and skills-based hiring, has raised £1.75m in a funding round led by Mercia and including existing backer Qantx and private investors.  The funding will enable Exeter-based RoleMapper to further develop its AI-powered platform and continue to grow its client base in the UK and US.

YFM and Maven lead £6.5m funding in deep tech AI company Biorelate

Maven Capital Partners and YFM Equity Partners, have announced the completion of a £6.5m Series A investment for Biorelate. A group of angel investors from the Manchester Tech Trust also participated in the round.

Founded in 2014 and led by Daniel Jamieson, Biorelate curates dark biomedical knowledge to empower drug discovery with its proprietary AI platform, Galactic AI™. Galactic AI’s innovative technology uniquely combines natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML) to capture highly valuable biomedical data that pharmaceutical and life sciences organisations can utilise to improve decision making in their drug discovery programs.

Extend Robotics, a business that has developed an immersive software interface which allows the use of consumer virtual-reality headset to interact with a robot across the internet in real-time, has received investment from several Henley Business Angels members and guests, contributing towards a funding round of £345k.

Healthtech start-up BlueSkeye AI raises £3.4m to transform mental health diagnoses

Award winning, early stage Healthtech company, BlueSkeye AI Ltd, has secured £3.4m in funding to pursue its mission to improve people’s quality of life through the use of its proprietary face and voice analysis technology. The round was led by XTX Ventures, which invested alongside Foresight Group (through The Midlands Engine Investment Fund), Praetura Ventures (through Praetura’s GMC Life Sciences Fund), the University of Nottingham and a consortium of high-net-worth individuals.

Nicolaus Henke backs VR training for doctors in £2.1M round

Oxford Medical Simulation (OMS), a provider of highly realistic virtual reality healthcare training, has raised a further £2.1 million in a funding round that included ACF Investors and angel investor Dr Nicolaus Henke, former chairman of Quantum Black and former head of McKinsey’s global healthcare practice.

Lawhive, the AI and data-driven Legaltech platform, has successfully raised $2M in seed funding to increase transparency and democratise access to legal services for consumers and small businesses in the UK. The round was led by Episode 1 Ventures and includes additional support from Tiny VC and 25 angel investors, including Aron Gelbard (Bloom & Wild Founder), Jonathan Petrides (Allplants Founder) and senior executives from Monzo, Spotify, Meta and N26.
