Welsh businesses showed resilience in the face of a difficult financial year, with a strong increase in exports and growing business confidence.

Delio, the financial technology firm that digitises the private market strategies of leading financial institutions, has launched its new Vaults functionality as part of the flagship Delio Core platform. 

With Q-Bot’s advanced insulation installed in over 200 homes every month and following a 60% increase in revenue over the past 12 months, Q-Bot has secured a new tranche of investment, totaling more than £3.5million. The new funding will support Q-Bot’s growth in its main market of the UK, in continental Europe and in the USA. In the UK alone, Q-Bot’s high performance retrofit insulation can help insulate the 8-12 million homes that have suspended floors and which are hard to treat using traditional forms of insulation. 

Treefera, a pioneering AI-powered data platform that revolutionizes forest data and conservation, has closed a $2.2 million pre-Seed funding round, led by Concept Ventures. Treefera’s transformative platform aims to reshape the carbon offset market, addressing a sector predicted to reach $250 billion by 2050. The round saw participation from esteemed investors including Twin Path Ventures, January Ventures, and Greg Lavender, CTO of Intel, as an Angel investor.

Kuano, a Cambridge-based drug discovery company combining quantum mechanics with AI to design the next generation of medicines, has closed a £1.8m seed funding round led by Mercia Ventures and including ACF Investors, Ascension Ventures, o2h Ventures, Meltwind Advisory LLP and other angel investors.

British cybersecurity company Goldilock has secured investment and support from members of two well-known investor groups – Harvard Business School Alumni Angels of GreaterNY (HBSAANY) and New York Angels (NYA). The $1.7 million seed round is a significant vote of confidence in Goldilock’s unique, patented, non-IP controlled hardware approach to cybersecurity.

Nottinghamshire startup, Zak Mobility, has secured a £140k investment from the British Design Fund (BDF) as part of a £520k funding round led by Kero Development Partners, as the company looks to redefine the future of mobility.

OneID, the UK's only provider of bank-verified digital identification services, has secured £1 million in new funding from ACF Investors. The investment will be used to further develop its product and bolster its mission to make the world a safer place by helping people prove who they are online easily and securely.

Waterspring Ventures, an award-winning early-stage venture capital firm based in Wales, has made its first investment into Operati Limited, which has built the first Software as a Service (SaaS) estimating solution of its kind for the SME market.

Waterspring Ventures is investing £280k of its first tranche into the business. It has partnered with The Development Bank of Wales for the deal, which is investing £150k from the Technology Seed Fund, whilst the founders of Operati Limited have also invested £50k.
