CV6 Therapeutics to invest £8m for new cancer drug development

A company based at Queen’s University, Belfast which has developed a potentially life-saving new cancer treatment is to invest almost £8m to take its first anti-cancer drug through a first-in-human, Phase 1a clinical trial and perform further scientific development work.

Fund Her North celebrates second birthday

Fund Her North is celebrating its second birthday, having successfully closed 14 deals leveraging a total of £4.5m for female founded businesses, and reaching 500 members. Established in 2020, Fund Her North is made up of over 32 northern women from venture capital firms, funding organisations and angel groups. Together, they have a combined investment power of over £650m. Fund Her North was founded by Helen Oldham, Jordan Dargue Jess Jackson, Charlotte Ashton, and Chi-chi Ekweozor.

Industrial tech startup STILRIDE raises €3.7m

Swedish electromobility and industrial tech startup STILRIDE has raised €3.7m to fuel future growth and innovation, following unprecedented demand for its inaugural electric motorcycle - the Sport Utility Scooter One (SUS1) -  and sustainable manufacturing technology, dubbed “industrial origami”.  The round was joined by new and existing angels that include Gustaf Hagman, Saeid Esmaeilizadeh and Tobias Emanuelsson (founder and CEO at Polar Structure).
